Revelation 2:20 (KJV)- Notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel…
I Corinthians 1:10(KJV) – Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mine and in the same judgement.
Ephesians 4:26, 27 (KJV)– Be ye angry and sin not.; let not the sun go down on your wrath (27) neither give place to the devil.
The Lord knows that where Satan can sow discord, he can gain power. That is why we are not to tolerate that splitter named Jezebel. We must insist on walking in love together. There is also a method outlined in the Word about how to create unity by handling anger without hurting and sinning against the other person, and thus, not letting Satan get a foothold. “Neither give place” means that we give Satan a space to work in when we do or say things that are hurtful when upset. We can voice grievances in a neutral tone.
Used to joke and say, “No one is gonna treat you worse than your own family” and “Everything you say can and will be held against you at home.” Unity starts in the family of origin. This is why we are commanded to bring a child up in the actions and ways of Christian love. We must not insult the integrity and personhood of the one we are angry at. Satan can get a foothold inside of the person who does this because the person must also create an internal lie that the bad behavior is deserved and therefore, all acts of anger are justified. This lying easily connects to a spirit of pride that continues to lift up and reinforce the faulty, hate-based anger expressions.
Often a person that suffers with dividing people and creating strife is trying to control and is thus acting in witchcraft. Talking about people behind their backs and trying to gain loyalty is how the Jezebel Spirit gets in. That demon slanders and tries to get agreement and gather power through the act of splitting Christian brothers and sisters. We should all recognize this kind of behavior as unacceptable. After all, the church at Thyatira was reprimanded for tolerating the Jezebel spirit.
